Shore Sweeps Up At David Broome Centre
15/05/2016 10:25:00

Cheshire based Keith shore took the feature Martin Collins CSI2*Grand Prix at the Wales & West Chepstow International  Horse Show at the David Broome Centre on 2 May 2016.

Riding Mystic Hurricane, Keith was one of only five to reach the jump off over course designer Alan Wade’s testing track, but the only one to make the time.

“The tracks have been tough”, Keith told Horse & Hound Magazine (12 May).  “I was worried about the time so I made sure and got in by one and a half seconds.  It was clever course-building, with questions everywhere and it produced the right result.”

Keith also won the small tour accumulator with the 18 year old Zegreanne Z,  a five time winner at the San Giovanni Horse Show in Italy two weeks previously.

Young Harry Charles continued his winning form at the venue.  The current Welsh Masters Champion headed the medium Grand Prix on a ride of three weeks – the 8 year old Dauphin, produced by his father, 2012 Olympic gold medallist, Peter.

Other youngster s from famous showjumping families also shone at this Show, including:

  • 14 year old Jack Whitaker, who took the small grand prix with the 15 year old French bred Native De Vesquerie.
  • 13 year old Olli Fletcher (son of Graham) claimed the ‘Children-on-horses’ Grand Prix with new ride Temple Rebus, taking over from stable jockey, Alfie Bradstock.   It was only the fourth time Olli had ridden the horse and told Horse & Hound Magazine:  “He’s scopey, fun, tries his heart out and does his job well. “
